Travel and Landscape
Travel for some is about seeing new places, eating different foods, hearing different voices and sounds, understanding different cultures, and even experiencing new smells and textures. For me, experiencing travel through the lens of the camera is about creating visual points of reference and interest as a literal snapshot in time. Mountains erode, river water runs, architecture comes and goes. What we see in the present will shift and change, but the frozen in the moment image often stokes a memories of all those other senses, sights, tastes, sounds, and friends. While many of my travel images have deeply personal meaning, I seek to invoke emotion in my viewers that takes them away to new or familiar places.
